My Journey to Lapland for a Husky Sledding Adventure

As a passionate traveler and photographer, I've always been on the lookout for new and exciting experiences to capture through my lens. When I first heard about husky sledding in Lapland, I knew I had to make it happen. However, finding like-minded travel companions was easier said than done. Whenever I brought up the idea, people were always hesitant, saying it was too cold for them.

That's when my sister showed me a website for a 5-day husky sledding tour in Lapland, and I knew I had to book it. A few days later, I went to Amsterdam and booked my trip from January 27th to February 3rd. I packed my gear and set off on the adventure of a lifetime.

When I arrived in Lapland, I was surprised to find that it wasn't as cold as I expected. After getting off the bus, I was greeted by the sounds of huskies howling, which was a real thrill. The next day, the sledding adventure began. I was paired with three Germans, two Swiss, a Frenchman, and a Finnish guide. I was in charge of a sled with four huskies, and we were off, exploring the stunning white landscapes of Lapland.

Along the way, we would stop to rest and have a hot meal, cooked by the guide. I particularly enjoyed the reindeer meat, which was delicious. At night, we would stay in wooden cabins, and although I did have to brave the cold to use the outdoor toilet, it was all worth it for the experience.

One of the highlights of the trip was seeing the Northern Lights. We were standing by a lake surrounded by trees, and the lights danced overhead. It was a breathtaking sight, and I felt grateful to have captured it with my camera.

The sledding journey took us over rivers and through dense forests. During dinner, the guide would share stories about the history and culture of the land. After returning to the resort for two more nights, I said goodbye to Lapland and headed back to the Netherlands.

This husky sledding adventure was truly one of a kind, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. If you're looking for an exciting way to experience the beauty of Lapland, I highly recommend giving husky sledding a try. Just remember to pack warm and be prepared for an unforgettable journey.

Santa Maria di Leuca

Traveled Tales is a blog about photography, travel, and urbex, and today I want to share my recent adventure to the beautiful town of Santa Maria di Leuca in the Puglia region of Southern Italy. I am a 31-year-old woman and have been a photographer since I was 18, so this trip was a dream come true for me.

I'm about to take you on a journey to a little slice of paradise at the end down of Puglia, Italy. Santa Maria di Leuca, you might not have heard of it, but trust me, it's about to be your new favorite spot for some serious Instagram inspiration.

First things first, let me set the scene for you. Picture this: a winding coastal road lined with palm trees, leading down to a rocky coastline where the waves are crashing against the rocks so hard, you can feel the spray on your face. It's the ultimate spot for some sick coastal shots, and that's exactly why I made the trek down there. I'm a stock photographer and I was on a mission to snap some new shots for my Dreamstime portfolio.

Now, let's talk about the day itself. It was one of those days where the weather just couldn't make up its mind. It was raining on and off, but I didn't let that stop me from getting my shots. I walked for miles along the coast, taking in the sights and sounds of the sea. At one point, I stumbled upon this little wooden path that seemed like some kind of survival trail. It was really cool, but all the activities along the way were closed, like cave visits and a cute little cafe. The whole town was pretty quiet and pretty much deserted, but that just made it all the more eerie and atmospheric.

As I continued on my journey, I came across this really long staircase leading up to the lighthouse. It was a real workout, but the view from the top was worth it. I snapped some shots of the steps and the surrounding greenery and decorations (because, you know, it was close to Christmas). Along the way, I also came across some dead animals, which was kind of sad, but not really worth photographing. But when I finally made it to the lighthouse, the view was absolutely breathtaking. I've been to Santa Maria di Leuca once before, but this was my first time exploring this particular area, and it definitely did not disappoint.

Unfortunately, by the time I finished up, my camera was drenched (I forgot to bring a rain cover, rookie mistake) but I was able to salvage some of the shots. And as a cherry on top of an already amazing day, I caught the sunset over the water before my boyfriend came to pick me up. I was freezing by that point, but it was all worth it for those killer shots.

So there you have it, folks. Santa Maria di Leuca is a hidden gem that you need to add to your bucket list. The vibe is chill, the scenery is next level, and the photographic opportunities are endless. And if you're lucky, you might even catch a rainbow over the water! Meet the Photographer and Traveler, Jeamy Schaling

I discovered my passion for photography through a photography course, which opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. I started exploring my hometown and abandoned buildings with my camera and found beauty in the forgotten places. I started my blog, Traveled Tales, to document my journey and share my passion with others. Photography has truly changed the way I see the world and given me purpose and direction in my life.

My name is Jeamy Schaling and I am a passionate photographer and traveler. I have always been fascinated by the world around me and the stories it holds, and through photography, I am able to capture those stories and share them with others.

My journey with photography began when I was 18 years old. I had always found it interesting, but it wasn't until I got my first camera that I truly fell in love with it. At first, I was just having fun with it, taking pictures of anything and everything. But as I started to learn more about the technical aspects of photography, my appreciation for it grew even more.

That's when I decided to take a photography course. It was an eye-opening experience for me. The course was structured in a way where we met once a week for 10 weeks. Each week, we would bring in the photos we had taken during the previous week and share them with the class. We would then go through each other's photos, discussing what we liked and didn't like, and offering constructive criticism. Our teacher, who was a professional photographer, would also share her own work and explain the thought process behind it.

One of the things I learned during the course was how to use my camera to its full potential. I learned about the different settings and how to use them to achieve different effects in my photos. I also learned about how to play with light and how to compose a photo in a way that is visually pleasing.

But the course was not just about the technical aspects of photography. It was also about learning how to see the world in a new way. Our teacher would often take us on field trips, such as to a railway museum or a zoo, and challenge us to find interesting and unique perspectives to photograph. It was through these experiences that I learned to slow down and really take in my surroundings. To look for the beauty in the small things, and to see the world in a different light.

After completing the course, I began to take my photography more seriously. I started to travel more, seeking out new and interesting places to photograph. One of my favorite things to photograph is abandoned buildings. There is something about the way the light filters in through the broken windows and the way nature has started to reclaim the space that I find incredibly beautiful.

Photography has not only given me a way to express myself and share my love of travel with others, but it has also changed the way I see the world. The skills and knowledge that I gained from my photography course, such as paying attention to small details and playing with light, are things that I still use today in my photography. Not only did the course teach me how to take better photographs, but it also taught me to look at the world in a different way. It taught me to slow down and really take in my surroundings, to look for the beauty in the small things, and to see the world in a new light.

After completing the course, I began to take my photography more seriously. I started to travel more, seeking out new and interesting places to photograph. One of my favorite things to photograph is abandoned buildings. The way the light filters in through the broken windows and the way nature has started to reclaim the space is incredibly beautiful. It's amazing to see how a building that once was a bustling hub of activity, now stands empty and forgotten, but still holds so much beauty and character.

I also started to explore my hometown of Muiden with my camera, focusing mainly on the buildings and the bridge. I particularly loved taking detail shots of the castle and the fort. As I gained more experience and confidence in my photography, I began to explore the world of Urbex. Urbex, or urban exploration, is the practice of exploring and photographing abandoned buildings and structures. The first time I went Urbexing was an incredible experience. I visited an abandoned mill with a bowling alley inside. It was the first time I had ever been inside an abandoned building with so much still inside and I found it truly fascinating.

Although my work from that time was not yet very good, I was still in the early stages of my journey as a photographer. I was learning and experimenting with different techniques, and I was constantly pushing myself to improve. But no matter how much my skills and knowledge have improved, I will always be grateful for that first Urbex experience and the memories and photographs that I captured.

Through my continued exploration of abandoned buildings and structures, I have been able to capture the beauty and mystery of these forgotten places and share them with others. And it all started with that photography course, which gave me the foundation and inspiration to pursue my passion for photography and travel. Photography has truly changed the way I see the world. Before I discovered my passion for photography, I had never really taken the time to truly appreciate and observe my surroundings. I would often rush through my day-to-day activities, not really paying attention to the small details that make up our world. But through photography, I have learned to slow down and truly take in my surroundings.

I have come to appreciate the beauty in the small things and have learned to see the world in a different light. I have learned to see the world in a different light. Photography has taught me to pay attention to the way light falls on a scene, how the colors change throughout the day and how to play with shadows and reflections to create interesting compositions.

Through photography, I have also discovered the beauty in abandoned buildings and structures, something that I would have never noticed before. The art of urban exploration, also known as Urbex, has allowed me to capture the beauty and mystery of these forgotten places and share them with others.

I am constantly learning and pushing myself to improve my skills and create better images. And I have found that the more I explore and learn, the more my passion for photography grows.

That's why I started my blog, Traveled Tales, to document my journey as a photographer and share my love of photography, travel and Urbex with others. I hope that through my stories and images, I can inspire others to pick up a camera and start exploring the world for themselves.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Ostuni, a city in the southern region of this Italy and it was an experience I will never forget.

My partner and I were looking for a new adventure and Ostuni was the perfect destination. We had heard about its charming streets, picturesque views, and warm climate, and we were not disappointed.

We began our journey by driving through winding roads lined with olive trees. The landscape was breathtaking, and we couldn't wait to explore the city. As we got closer to Ostuni, the anticipation grew and we couldn't wait to see what the city had to offer.

One of the most memorable moments of our trip was when we were walking through the city and came across a resident who struck up a conversation with us. They were curious about where we were from and wished us a happy holiday. It was a small moment, but it reminded us of the kindness and generosity of the people in Ostuni.

As we continued our journey through the city, we came across some of the most breathtaking views. The city is built on a hill and from the top, you can see the entire city and beyond. We were able to park our car just outside of the city and take a short hike up to the top of the hill. The views were truly breathtaking, and we were able to capture some incredible photos of the city from above.

One of the things that stood out to us during our visit was the warm weather. Even though it was winter, we didn't need jackets and we were able to enjoy the city in comfort. It was a nice change from the cold weather we were used to.

We also had the opportunity to explore some of the city's hidden gems. We found ourselves wandering through the winding streets, admiring the white buildings and houses, and the staircases and tunnels that connect them. We even saw laundry hanging out to dry, adding to the charm of the city.

Another highlight of our trip was the urbex we saw in Ostuni. Although we weren't able to enter, we were fascinated by the abandoned buildings and the stories they held.

Our trip to Ostuni was one of the highlights of our tra vels. The city's charm and beauty captivated us, and we found ourselves wanting to stay longer. The winding streets, picturesque views, and the charming atmosphere of Ostuni immediately captured my heart. My boyfriend and I were on a romantic getaway and we couldn't have picked a better destination. The city's white-washed buildings, narrow alleys and cobblestone streets were the perfect backdrop for our adventure.

As we walked through the city, we couldn't help but be drawn in by the charming architecture and the vibrant local culture. The streets were lined with colorful laundry hanging from balconies, adding to the charming atmosphere of the city. We found ourselves constantly stopping to take pictures of the picturesque views and the charming details that we stumbled upon.

One of t he most memorable moments of our trip was when we stumbled upon a hidden urbex location. We were so intrigued by the abandoned building and its history, but unfortunately we weren't able to explore it. But even though we couldn't go inside, we still enjoyed the eerie beauty of the building and the sense of mystery it exuded.

The drive to Ostuni, through winding roads lined with olive trees was also a highlight of the trip. My boyfriend even got to fly his drone and capture breathtaking aerial views of the city. We parked our car just outside the city, as cars are not allowed in the city center, but this gave us the opportunity to take in the stunning view of the city from a distance before we even arrived.

The white-washed buildings, narrow alleys and cobblestone streets of Ostuni, the charming architecture and the vibrant local culture, the hidden urbex location, the warm weather during Christmas, the friendly locals we met and the drive through winding roads lined with olive trees all made our trip to Ostuni a truly unforgettable experience. And I have to say, I was completely smitten with this city and I even considered moving there. Ostuni will always hold a special place in my heart, it was truly an ultimate adventure and I can't wait to go back and explore more of what it has to offer.

As a photography enthusiast and world explorer, I'm always on the hunt for new ways to capture the beauty of life. And let me tell you, my collection of reptiles - chameleons, bearded dragons, and geckos - have been a constant source of inspiration for me.

When I get my hands on new camera gear or lenses, I immediately put them to the test by snapping shots of my scaly homies. Whether it's taking them out of their cages for solo photoshoots or setting up sick scenes to mimic their natural habitats, I always find fresh and exciting ways to showcase the unique personalities of my pets.

One of my most memorable shoots was when I received a stuffed dog toy as a Christmas gift. I placed my smallest bearded dragon on the toy dog's back and snapped a photo. The result was a dope way to capture the bond between the two animals and it's still one of my favorite photos. I also remember one time when I got a new lens and I was so excited to test it out, so I took my chameleon out of its cage and started experimenting with different angles and shots. It was so much fun to see the results and I was really happy with the final photos.

I'm also all about nature, so one time I recreated a desert environment to photograph my bearded dragons in their natural habitat. It was a bit of a challenge, but the photos came out fire. I love getting up close and personal with my reptiles, diving into their terrariums with my camera to capture their natural behaviors like eating or basking. It's like getting a glimpse into a whole other world.

As a photographer, it's essential to be creative and experiment with new techniques. My tip for fellow photographers is to not be afraid to get up close and personal with your subjects. Dive into a terrarium, get down on the ground, and capture a unique perspective. It'll lead to some seriously killer shots.

Another tip is to think outside the box when it comes to setting up a photoshoot. Instead of just photographing your pets in their cages or enclosures, try recreating their natural habitat or incorporating props to add an extra layer of interest to the photo. It'll take your photos to the next level. For example, I once set up a small pond in my backyard and put my geckos near it and the results were amazing.

And don't forget to pay attention to lighting when taking photos of your pets. Reptiles, in particular, have unique skin patterns and textures that can be highlighted or obscured depending on the lighting. Experiment with different light sources and angles to find the best lighting for your subject. It's like unlocking a whole new dimension.

Capturing the beauty of my pets and nature is just one of the many things that I love to do as a photographer, and I hope my photos inspire others to think creatively and experiment with new techniques, just like my pets and travels have inspired me.

Another tip I would like to share is to always be prepared and have your camera with you. You never know when an opportunity will arise to take a great shot. I remember one time when I was out for a walk and I saw a beautiful snake on the side of the road and I didn't have my camera with me. I regretted it so much and ever since I always make sure to have my camera with me.

In conclusion, I believe that photography is not just about taking a picture, but it's about capturing a moment and a memory. My pets and nature have given me so many opportunities to do just that, and I will always be grateful for that. Capturing the beauty of my pets and nature is just one of the many things that I love to do as a photographer and I hope that my photographs will inspire others to think creatively and experiment with new techniques, just as my pets and travels have inspired me.

I'm always looking for new adventures and new ways to capture the beauty of the world around me. I think that Amsterdam is the perfect place for that, with so many different cultures and architecture. I like to explore the city, taking pictures of the beautiful canals, the colorful houses and the diversity of the people. I also like to go to the countryside, where I can find peace and quiet and take pictures of the beautiful landscapes and the wildlife.

I love to combine my love for photography and my love for nature and the result is always amazing. Sometimes, I like to go to the beach and take pictures of the sunset, or to the forest and take pictures of the trees and the animals. It's amazing how the light can change everything and make a picture look completely different.

So, if you're a fellow photographer or just someone who loves to capture the beauty of the world, don't be afraid to experiment and try new things.
